News From the Membership Committee Chairman – Tom King

Recruiting new members and re-engaging our current members are essential to the continued growth and well-being of our council. Offering a man membership in the Knights of Columbus gives him the opportunity to improve his own life and his community. Membership allows him to experience the fraternal bond that Knights share while growing closer to his family and faith.

The Membership Committee is committed to our growth and has already taken steps to actively recruit new members. Our entire Council will be involved in this effort which includes being more visible and actively promoting our good works at events like the Pancake Breakfast, Soccer Challenge, and possibly hosting social events like an Oktoberfest and NFL/College Game Day Socials.

Please join your brother Knights on the Membership Committee and offer your new ideas on how to drive membership (Deacon Tom Hughes, Ernie Florig, Gert Beltman, Gordon Scott and Pete Sapia)

Recruiting a new member can be as easy as asking him to join!

Attention all brother knights of Council 5535, we need volunteers to help out with our only Fund Raiser. Please see in your heart that you can spend a couple of hours on Wednesday and Sunday evening. This would be very much appreciated.

    Palm Sunday Membership Drive!
If you believe in the importance of investing your time in friendship, the Church, and helping others, the Knights of Columbus is for you. The Knights of Columbus is an organization of Catholic men and their families that derive a great sense of satisfaction from being able to develop long lasting friendships with each other while helping the less fortunate. The Knights were founded on four basic but powerful principals: Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism.

Every council provides a wide variety of opportunities, projects and activities for members and their families to get involved in. Upcoming events include an Alter Server appreciation picnic and award ceremony, a pancake breakfast and blood drive, and parish 4th of July party. We continuously support several beaches charities such as Mission House, BEAM, Dreams Come True, Dial-a-Ride and Meals on Wheels. We are currently sponsoring several seminarians and one postulate on their journey toward a vocation of dedicated religious life. Our Council raised and donated over $50,000 to local charities in 2014!! And there are countless other activities we are involved in, too numerous to list at this time.

Representatives from the Beaches KofC Council will be available after Mass as you exit to answer questions and accept applications for membership. Please stop by, we love talking about our activities and how much fun we have participating!
    Thank you!
