Recruiting new members and re-engaging our current members are essential to the continued growth and well-being of our council. Offering a man membership in the Knights of Columbus gives him the opportunity to improve his own life and his community. Membership allows him to experience the fraternal bond that Knights share while growing closer to his family and faith.
The Membership Committee is committed to our growth and has already taken steps to actively recruit new members. Our entire Council will be involved in this effort which includes being more visible and actively promoting our good works at events like the Pancake Breakfast, Soccer Challenge, and possibly hosting social events like an Oktoberfest and NFL/College Game Day Socials.
Please join your brother Knights on the Membership Committee and offer your new ideas on how to drive membership (Deacon Tom Hughes, Ernie Florig, Gert Beltman, Gordon Scott and Pete Sapia)
Recruiting a new member can be as easy as asking him to join!
For membership info – please call Tom King (904) 614-0022
The Council has been a financial and hands-on supporter of Ronald McDonald House for many years, with in-house cooking for the evening meal on the fourth Saturday of each month throughout the year.
All Knights, wives, family members, widows, and friends, who are interested in preparing a simple, home-cooked meal, for approximately sixty people, are encouraged to volunteer for this community and youth special program. Most recipients of the dinner meals are families from out-of-town, who have seriously ill children hospitalized or receiving treatment at nearby Wolfson or Nemours Hospital.
If interested, please contact Volunteer Coordinator Ed Maxted at 233-8316. Ed attends all Council meetings at the hall and is also available at Wednesday Bingo. Cooks will be reimbursed for food purchases or a check may be issued in advance.
